Reeves and Blackburn Win GOP Nashville Straw Poll

Nashville, Tennessee — September 19, 2025 — The Davidson County Republican Party congratulates Lee Reeves on winning the Tennessee 7th Congressional District Special Primary Election straw poll, as well as Marsha Blackburn on winning the Tennessee Gubernatorial straw poll conducted at Ray Stevens CabaRay Showroom.
The Tennessee 7th Congressional District Special Primary Election straw poll saw 159 total votes, with the following breakdown:
1st – Lee Reeves – 40 votes (25.15%)
2nd – Matt Van Epps – 32 votes (20.12%)
3rd – Gino Bulso – 23 votes (14.46%)
4th – Jody Barrett – 16 votes (10.06%)
4th – Mason Foley – 16 votes (10.06%)
4th – Stewart Parks – 16 votes (10.06%)
7th – Tres Wittum – 9 votes (5.66%)
8th – Joe Leurs – 7 votes (4.40%)
9th – Stuart Cooper – 0 votes (0.00%)
9th – Adolph Dagan – 0 votes (0.00%)
9th – Jason Knight – 0 votes (0.00%)
The Tennessee Gubernatorial straw poll saw 166 total votes, with the following breakdown:
1st – Marsha Blackburn – 117 votes (70.48%)
2nd – John Rose – 44 votes (26.50%)
3rd – Monty Fritts – 3 votes (1.80%)
With two write-in votes
"We are so grateful to the more than 200 people in attendance, and all of the candidates who participated in our 7th Congressional District Candidate Forum and straw polls," said Jason Weakley, Chairman of the Davidson County Republican Party. "We are energized to help keep the 7th District a Republican seat in Congress, as well as working with our friends and volunteers to win local Nashville elections in August 2026."
The GOP Nashville board would like to thank all the elected officials who were in attendance for the candidate forum as we all work towards increasing Republican voter turnout in Davidson County for this important Special Election. We remind Republicans to show up and vote early before the Primary on October 7th, and then to also vote in the Special General Election on or before December 2.
